Board Member AAACC President 2024-26 Yen Yan is a commercial real estate and business broker in the state of Texas. Yen specializes on retail and medical office properties, multi-family as well liquor related businesses. She has been in business for over 8 years as a real estate agent and 18 years in property management. Switching to Real Broker, LLC in December 2020, Yen provides commercial real estate clients, local and nationally with financial analysis, comprehensive market analysis and market research. Yen also works directly with clients and manages the sale transactions of real estate portfolios. Yen’s organizational skills, timeliness in responding to client needs, precision and attention to detail on recent transactions has resulted in tremendous client satisfaction. Yen is a recipient of a double gold award recognition from Keller Williams Realty for her outstanding sales performance and service. Yen is also a graduate from Texas A&M University with a masters degree on land and real estate development. Yen is a designee of the CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) which is the highest recognition in the commercial real estate industry. |

Willie Ng, Jr.
Board Member AAACC Immediate Past President In 2003, Willie Ng founded Blue Armor Security Services, Inc., and serves as owner, President and Chief Executive Officer. Willie is leading, guiding and overseeing the performance of the organization. Willie sets the direction and drives the company’s strategic plans and vision, and he leads business development and fiscal operations. Willie determines the company’s overarching goals and initiatives. With an innate ability for law enforcement and public service, Willie Ng has been serving in Law Enforcement since1993. Recently, Willie served in the roles of Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Criminal Investigator with the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney’s Office, where Willie lead multiple teams working closely with local and federal law enforcement agencies to successfully prepare criminal cases for prosecution in Bexar County. Willie Ng served the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney’s Office from January 1, 2015 – December 31, 2018. Prior to joining the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office as Chief Criminal Investigator, Willie served the city of San Antonio with the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) for 22 years. During his time with SAPD, Willie began as a Patrol Officer patrolling all areas of San Antonio, then served as a Detective Investigator where he investigated various criminal offenses in the Repeat Offenders Program (ROP) and Financial Crimes Unit. Prior to retirement from SAPD, Willie worked with the United States Secret Service where he was deputized as a Special Federal Deputy Marshal and served within the unit for over seven years. Willie’s in-depth training as a law enforcement professional ranges from Hand-to-Hand Combat & Self-Defense, Hand-Written Forgery, Counterfeit Currency & Credit Card Fraud, to Lie Detection, Narcotics and Emergency Management training by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. |
Willie is a certified Trainer for Active Shooter and Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response from Texas State University.
Willie has a Master Certification in Law Enforcement by the State of Texas. Willie was deputized Special Federal Deputy Marshal with the United States Secret Service. In addition to public service and economic development, Willie is tireless in his efforts toward non-profit work. Willie provides community support and consulting to business leaders, entrepreneurs, law enforcement and various local and national organizations. Willie contributes his time serving on various boards, to include but not limited to, currently serving as Board Member of the San Antonio Education Partnership (SAEP), Board of Director for Child Advocates of San Antonio (CASA), Co-Founder of the Maestro Entrepreneur Center and Maestro Leadership Development, among others. Willie is a member of the Criminal Justice Reform Committee of the Texas Associations of Business (TAB) with headquarters in Austin, Texas, where he worked in conjunction with the team to create and implement the initiative Texas House Bill 918 which went into effect in January 2020. Willie has a Baccalaureate (Bachelor’s) in Criminal Justice from Wayland Baptist University, a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) from St. Mary’s University, and Willie is currently working on his dissertation to finalize his Doctorate (PhD) in Organizational Leadership from the University of the Incarnate Word. Willie received the ASIS International Award for Exemplary Service to Business and Law Enforcement (2016), and in 2017, Willie received the award for Professional Achievement by the Texas Commission of Law Enforcement (TCOLE) for his service and accomplishments in law enforcement since his career began in1993. Willie is an award recipient at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) Dreeben School of Education in Recognition for Academic Excellence (April 2019). |

Board Member AAACC Treasurer 2024-2026 Ms. Adams has 22 years of banking experience serving our small business community. Currently, she is a SVP /Small Business Lending Manager at Jefferson Bank. In this position, she is responsible for promoting small business lending solutions through conventional and SBA loan programs. Ms. Adams is very active in the community and has a strong networking source. Nelson Tuazon, DNP, DBA, RN, NEA-BC, CENP, CPHQ, CPPS, CPXP, FNAP, FACHE, FAAN
Board Member Dr. Tuazon is currently the Vice President and Associate Chief Nursing Officer at University Health in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Tuazon served as Editor of the Philippine Nurses Association of America: A Tapestry. He analyzed and synthesized evidence on acculturation, legislation and regulations affecting immigrants, and the integration of foreign-educated nurses into the US workforce. He collaborated with over 40 contributors over two years in writing and memorializing PNAA's 40-year history. He also pioneered PNAA's efforts in developing its official international publication and subsequently served as the inaugural Editor of the Journal of the PNAA in 2009. JPNAA evolved into the Journal of Nursing Practice Applications and Reviews of Research (JNPARR) in 2013. He has served as JNPARR’s Managing Editor and currently serves on its Editorial Board. Dr. Tuazon’s impact on advocacy and policy is evidenced by his service on regional, state, and national boards. As the New Jersey Board of Nursing President, he advocated for the successful re-integration of impaired nurses into practice through the NJ State Nurses Association (NJSNA) Recovery and Monitoring Program (RAMP). As a board member of the New Jersey Initiative on Nursing Faculty Shortage, he participated in overseeing the implementation of the $13.5 million grants for the Faculty Preparation Program that supported 46 scholars. As Founding Chair of the San Antonio Nursing Consortium, he has collaborated with University Health System (UHS) to organize a joint effort with the Sheriff's Office to educate the public on Stop-the-Bleed and Active Shooter. |
Dr. Tuazon is a member of civic and professional organizations. He is a board member of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce, the Alamo Asian American Chamber of Commerce, and the Asian American Alliance of San Antonio. Most recently, he was the past-president of the South Central Texas Organization for Nursing Leadership (SCTONL) and the Parliamentarian of the Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA). He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Organization for Nursing Leadership (TONL), a member of the Nominating Committee of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL), and a member of the Scholarship and Awards Committee of the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN).
Dr. Tuazon holds national fellowships and certifications. He is a Fellow of the National Academies of Practice (FNAP), the American College of Nurse Executives (FACHE), and the American Academy of Nursing. He holds board certifications as a nurse executive (Nursing Executive, Advanced and Certified Executive in Nursing Practice), as a quality professional (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality), as a patient safety professional (Certified Professional in Patient Safety), and patient experience profession. Dr. Tuazon completed his BSN and Master of Arts in Education from Angeles University Philippines, Master of Science in Nursing from Seton Hall University, Master of Business Administration from Monmouth University, Doctor of Business Administration from Northcentral University, and Doctor of Nursing Practice from Grand Canyon University. |
Elisa Chan,
AAACC Founder Board Member AAACC Past President Elisa Chan was born in Taiwan and moved to the United States in 1988 for graduate study. She became a U.S. citizen in 1999 and has resided in San Antonio for over 30 years. She received her Master’s Degree in Computer Science at the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1993. For 13 years, she worked successfully in the computer software development field. Elisa and her husband, Clifford Hew, P.E. founded Unintech Consulting Engineers, Inc., a structural and civil engineering design and surveying firm in 1992. With Elisa and Clifford, the only two employees at UNINTECH’s inception, the company now has over 55 employees in both the San Antonio and Austin market. As president and co-owner, she is in charge of strategic planning initiatives and overseeing financial management, business development and marketing, human resources, and information technology for firm-wide operations. UNINTECH has consistently been ranked among the "Top 25 Largest Engineering" and "Women-Owned" firms in San Antonio by the San Antonio Business Journal.Elisa ran for San Antonio City Council’s District 9 in 2009 and won, becoming the first Asian American woman and the first immigrant to serve on the city council for the 7th largest city in the U.S. She was re-elected in 2011 and 2013 with over 70% of the vote. Elisa has always shown passion for San Antonio’s economic development with a special interest in international business. |
While a member of the San Antonio City Council, Elisa led the city's international economic development efforts.
In 2010, she was co-chair of the city's delegation to the Shanghai World Expo. The delegation was comprised of over 70 of San Antonio's civic and business leaders. Elisa was the catalyst in establishing the friendship city relationships with the city of Suzhou and Wuxi, China. Also, three major Chinese cities in Jiangsu Province made trade mission visits to San Antonio during the latter part of 2010. San Antonio signed a Sister City Agreement with Wuxi in February 2012. Elisa was given the Honorary Citizen title in 2016. Elisa also helped establish the Sister City relationship between San Antonio and Windhoek, Namibia. She joined the delegation led by then Mayor Ivy Taylor to Windhoek in 2016 and attended the Sister City Agreement signing ceremony. Elisa is significantly engaged in the San Antonio Asian community. She helped establish the Alamo Asian American Chamber of Commerce, serving as its President in 2004 - 2007. In 2014, she established a second organization, the Asian American Alliance of San Antonio (AAASA), a non-partisan, non-religious organization with the purpose to unite and promote the Asian American community. The AAASA has 25 Asian organizations as its members and is currently led by Elisa as its President. Elisa, her husband Clifford live in the Stone Oak area in San Antonio. Their daughter, Nikola is currently a Biomedical Engineering student at UT Austin. |
Dr. Melinda Rodriguez, PT, DPT, MSCS, LSVT-Big
Board Member AAACC Past President Dr. Melinda Rodriguez is one of the founders of Access Quality Therapy Services (AQTS), a specialized home health and outpatient rehabilitation agency focused on the treatment of neurological and orthopedic conditions based in San Antonio, Texas and is now a subsidiary of Chenega Corporation. She is currently the Senior Executive Director of AQTS Home Health. Melinda is also one of the founders of Outsource Strong, a business process outsourcing company and a medical call center. She is a graduate of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program from Boston University, 2006. She is a 1990 graduate of the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines, and Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. Melinda has practiced as a physical therapist in numerous settings but is recognized as an expert in the delivery of therapy services in the home health arena. She is a Lee Silverman Voice Treatment- Big certified and a multiple sclerosis certified specialist. In 2001, she developed the Parkinson’s OutreachProgram, a comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation program for people diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, Essential Tremors, Stroke and other complex neurological movement disorders. This program is endorsed by the Alamo Area Parkinson’s Support Group, a chapter of the American Parkinson’s Disease Association, and was affiliated with Our Lady of the Lake University Harry Jersig Communication Disorders Clinic. Under her guidance, AQTS has expanded its services to include a Lee Silverman Voice Treatment Program, Falls Prevention and Balance Clinics, After Care Exercise Program, and an Alternative Exercise Program. Melinda also served as the president of the Alamo Asian American Chamber of Commerce 2010-2014. She was selected to be a part of Leadership San Antonio (LSA) Class 34 in January 2009. She also served as an advisory board member of UTSA- Better Business Excellence Program 2010. In Feb. 2012, she was selected as a chairperson for reviewers for grants for the Healthcare Innovation Challenge under the Center of Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (Innovation Center), a new initiative designed to test a wide range of innovations in communities across the country, seeking to accelerate system-wide health care transformation across the nation. Dr. Rodriguez is a proven leader and has taken on executive roles with several organizations. Governor Abbott appointed her to be a member of the Statewide Health Coordinating Council in 2018. She was the President of SA 100 2016-2018.Melinda also served on the board of Project Mend, San Antonio, Texas and a former board member and parliamentarian of the Organization of Filipinos in Texas (OFT). |
Melinda Rodriguez served on the board of directors of several- non profit groups such as the Alamo Area
Parkinson’s Support Group, APDA South Texas Chapter until 2001 to 2009, and is a professional advisory member of numerous organization. She currently serves as a board member of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and the Alamo Asian American Chamber of Commerce, was a co-chair in the Drainage Committee for the SA 2012 Bond Program, on the steering committee for San Antonio Mayor Castro!s Vision SA2020, and was the Secretary of the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners where she was appointed by Governor Perry for her second term. Melinda has also played crucial roles in San Antonio!s delegation to Shanghai!s World Expo, San Antonio!s Fitness Council, and is the representative for Texas to the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy. Melinda was awarded with the OUTSTANDING PHILIPPINE AMERICAN ENTREPRENEUR IN TEXAS 2019 by the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce Texas / Central Texas Region. She was honored with the Asian American Volunteer of the Year Award by the Philippine Women of America, May 16, 2015. She was also given one of the 40 Rubies by the University of Santo Thomas , Alumni of the Year, December, 2014. She was awarded the Business Innovation Award by the SA North Chamber of Commerce ON July 18,2012, Top Women in Leadership by San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in 2011 and the Healthcare Hero Award by the San Antonio Business Journal. Her company, AQTS, got awarded Fast Track, Top 27 Private Companies in SA by the SA Business Journal, July 2012 and the 8 th Largest Home Health agency in San Antonio, 2012. AQTS was also awarded the Silver Level- Small Worksite Category- 2012 Healthy Workplace Recognition Program, City of SA May 2012. Melinda was the Treasurer of the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame 2008- 2009. She was an inductee in the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame, Business and Finance Category, March, 2008. In 2005, Melinda is an appointee of Texas Governor Rick Perry to serve on the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners from 2005 to 2015.She currently serves as the secretary of the Texas Physical Therapy Board and the PT representative in the Executive Council of PT and OT Examiners. Also in 2005, Melinda was selected as one of San Antonio’s top entrepreneurs under 40 by the San Antonio business community and was awarded the “Rising Star Award: 40 under 40” for 2005. In 2006, she was one of the 3 awardees of the Latina Business Excellence Award sponsored by UTSA, Compass Bank, San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Telemundo. |
Aparna Vohra
Board Member Aparna is the president-elect of the Asian American Alliance of San Antonio. She works as a program manager in financial sector and plans, directs and coordinates implementation of multiple, complex program initiative and projects, working closely with cross-functional teams and resources. Aparna assists executive leadership in effective transformation of strategic changes to drive adoption. Aparna also supports the non profit 501(c) 3, Alamo Asian Chamber of Commerce Educational Foundation and has been involved with standing it up from its inception. |
Aparna is also an all-rounded presenter, Anchor and is always honing her skill to be a Public Speaker.
Aparna has successfully managed the signature youth leadership program (YLSA) that is aligned to STEAM and works with K-12 and beyond to help students with leadership development and volunteering opportunities. Champa Mallavaram
Board Member Champa is a Senior Software Engineering of which her career in software developments is spanning 20 years with a focus on SAP ABAP development in the last 10 years. Exemplary record of cross-functional business users and stakeholder collaboration ensuring on-time, in-scope delivery. She is currently serves as a Secretary at the NuStar Volunteer Council, which oversees the Voluntary activities to promote community involvement. |
She also volunteers as a Teacher at the Balavikas Program, Hindu Temple of San Antonio (2018-Present) which she is currently serving as the main teacher 1st to 3rd grade kids. Responsible for the annual curriculum, designing and conducting weekly classes.

Board Member Arulmani works for Valero Energy Corporation as Manager of Data Security. He has served as program coordinator for AAACC as well. He has been involved in numeorus fundraising for AAACC as well as for the Educational Foundation of AAACC. Arul aims to continue to serve the community in the foreseeable future. |
Kausi Subramanian
Board Member Kausi Subramaniam has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Kausi serves as the President of Anuja SA, the organization that oversees the Sister City activities between San Antonio and Chennai, India. She was instrumental in developing the Sister City relationship between San Antonio and Chennai. Her brainchild, Diwali SA, is now an annual, city sanctioned festival in San Antonio. This festival brings a touch of Indian art and culture to San Antonio, helping put San Antonio on the map as a multi-cultural metropolis. Diwali SA celebrated its 10th Anniversary in 2018 and has become one of San Antonio’s largest and most popular events. Kausi served as the President of the Alamo Asian American Chamber of Commerce from 2007-09. She is a graduate of Leadership San Antonio, was recognized as one of the San Antonio Business Journal’s 40 Rising Stars Under 40, and was an inductee of the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame. She is a recently inducted member of The Rotary Club of San Antonio. |
Although Kausi’s educational background is in Mechanical Engineering, Kausi has been involved in San Antonio’s Arts Community for more than two decades. She and her business partner own and operate Kalalaya Indian Performing Arts. It is the largest and fastest growing Indian performing arts institution in San Antonio. Kausi was the President of the San Antonio Dance Umbrella for 3 years and helped revitalize the organization in a time of need. She has served on various boards and committees including, but not limited to; The Cultural Collaborative, The Carver Development Board, the Luminaria Steering Committee, the City of San Antonio’s Public Art Board and the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Commission. She currently serves on the City of San Antonio’s Arts Commission.
